【摘要】:Entericvirusesofpublichealthsignificancearepresentintheaquaticenvironment.Entericviruseshavebeendetectedintreatedwatersupplies.Entericvirusesareresponsibleforawiderangeofillnesses,rangingfromhepatitistogastroenteritis.Thispracticeisapplicabletotherecoveryofmanyplaque-formingentericvirusesfromwaterswhenusedinconjunctionwithcellcultureassaysystems.Theprinciplesofthispracticeareapplicablewithouttechnicalmodificationsformonitoringforvirusesbasedontheuseofgeneprobetechnology.1.1Thispracticecoversauniformprocedurefortheconcentrationofvirusesfromcollectedsamples.1.2Thispracticedescribesavirusadsorption-elutioncartridgefilterprocedureforrecoveringvirusesfromdrinkingwater.Volumesof400Lormoreareprocessedforsamplesofdrinkingwaterquality.1.3Theprinciplesofthispracticearealsoapplicabletosewages,effluents,andsurfacewaterswithouttechnicalmodifications.1.4Althoughspecificallydesignedforrecoveryofhumanenteroviruses,thispracticealsomaybeappliedtosomeotherhumanentericviruses,thathavetobedeterminedbyspecifictesting.1.5Theconsistencyofthispracticewasdeterminedfrommethodevaluationstudieswithpoliovirus-seededdrinkingwatersamples.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.OnlyadequatelytrainedpersonnelshouldbeallowedtoperformtheseproceduresandshouldusesafetyprecautionsrecommendedbytheU.S.PublicHealthServiceCenterforDiseaseControlforworkwithpotentiallyhazardousbiologicalorganisms.
